There will be an event dedicated to combustion science compliant with low-carbon mobility and energy, organised under the auspices of the University of Lorraine, and the British and French sections of the Combustion Institute.
The conference will be hosted at Laboratoire Réactions et Génie des Procédés (LRGP) in Nancy, France, on the 25th-26th April, and held in person in hybrid conditions.
Dedicated sessions will be held on Biofuels and Synthetic Fuels Combustion, Ammonia Combustion, Hydrogen Combustion, Other Topics on New Modes of Combustion, and Solid Biomass Combustion.
Deadline for abstract submission is 19th February.
Further information can be found here.

Criteria to differentiate oral (OPP) and poster (PPP) papers (distinct from work-in-progress posters WiPP)
There will be a Thematic Session on Zero-Emission Combustion at the International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, which will be held in Daegu, Korea, August 25-30, 2024.
A call for papers and further details can be found here; submission deadline is January 15th 2024.
The field of Machine Learning (ML) for combustion research is rapidly advancing, with the UK playing a pivotal role in integrating ML and combustion science, as demonstrated by the increasing volume of research in this area. Machine Learning for Combustion Meeting is co-organised by research groups from Queen Mary University of London, Imperial College London, and the University of Southampton, and provides a forum to present recent advances in ML for combustion science and engineering in (but not limited to) the following areas:
· Combustion Chemistry Acceleration
· Modelling Subgrid Scales in Large-Eddy Simulation
· Flame Diagnostics and Emissions Prediction
· Anomaly Detection
· Fuel Design and Engine Optimisation
· Thermal Runaway Prediction in Li-ion Batteries
The one-day meeting organised under the auspices of Combustion Institute British Section (CIBS) will feature two keynotes and ten invited talks from leading researchers in ML for combustion and the wider research community.
The CIBS AGM meeting will be held during the lunch break. The event will conclude with a panel discussion involving key stakeholders in the field.
